No Paging Station controls showing in WebApp
Talk 8 is only supported on WebApp versions 1.5.0 and above. Please ensure that you have updated your Zone to the latest available version of WebApp, found on our website.
If your Zone is operating the latest WebApp version, ensure that the CAT 5 cable from the Talk 8 is connected to the ZONE locking RJ45 connector input and the other end is connected to one of the Paging Station ports on the rear panel of the Zone unit - see Talk 8 - Connecting and Updating Firmware
Microphone not working
Check that the microphone is securely inserted into the XLR port on the top of Talk 8. The XLR socket is latching so the Mic 1 cannot be pulled out accidentally when handled.
If you are using a 3rd party condenser microphone, ensure that the 48v phantom power is pushed in. Finally, check the level Mic Gain pot on the rear of Talk 8 and your routing/levels in WebApp. Talk 8 microphone level in WebApp is controlled under Settings > Microphones > Paging Mic 1/2.
LED stays green
The Talk 8 LED indicator will remain green while the unit is connected to a computer via USB-C. Safely eject the Talk 8 from your computer and disconnect the USB-C cable. Talk 8 will now check for any file updates and send them to the Zone, then boot to the white LED.
If the green light remains after disconnecting the USB-C cable, disconnect and reconnect the CAT5 cable and allow Talk 8 to boot. If the issue persists, please contact technical support.
No connection - LED flashing blue and red
Talk 8 LED will flash blue and red if a firmware update has failed. If this happens, disconnect and reconnect the CAT5 cable from the unit and allow Talk 8 to reboot.
This LED sequence will also occur if Talk 8 is receiving power, but not receiving connection from a Zone. For example, if Talk 8 has been plugged into any RJ45 port other than the two specified Paging Station inputs on the Zone rear panel.
