Zones
A zone will be an area of a building that requires a chosen music source, microphone and associated levels. A single zone may use one or more physical outputs on the Zone processor as required for different loudspeaker types used within that zone. This is covered in WebApp - Routing Sources To Output.
In the zones section, accessed from the WebApp home page, you're presented with level controls and music source selection for the currently selected zone. The zones are listed on the left according to whether you have a Zone 4, 4P or Zone 8 or 8P unit. This list can be hidden by selecting 'Hide Zones'.
At this point it is best practice to name your zones.
In the example below, we have a Zone 8P that will be using five zones. Bar, lounge, restaurant, concourse and conference room. The remaining three zones can be hidden using visibility settings, see WebApp - Visibility of Zones and Sources for more details.
To rename a zone, navigate to Settings > Zones and select the zone you wish to rename. We'll start with renaming zone 1 as the bar. Select the zone, go to Zone Name and delete the placeholder name. Then, simply enter your zone name and exit the window. As you can see, zone 1 has now been renamed to 'Bar'.
Local inputs via a ZonePad 1 are also named here. Click the box named Local Source Name and enter a name for your source.
Sources
Music sources can be named in a similar fashion. Access this page via Settings > Music Sources. If an active source is already connected it will register on the green meter above the name bar.
In the example below, we are renaming Line Input 1 to 'Media Player'. Line Input 1 will now display with this name across all zones.
