To get the most out of your Optimal Audio Zone Processor, we recommend downloading the latest version of WebApp from the Software page of the Optimal Audio website.

Update via WebApp
- Navigate to Settings > Software > Maintenance

From WebApp 1.5, you can drag-and-drop the bundle file into the upload box or click the box to manually select the system.bundle file from your devices file browser. The upload will automatically start.
Drag-and-drop bundle uploader from WebApp 1.6.0 - Upload progress percentage and time remaining will be displayed in this window via a status bar.

Once the upload is complete, power cycle the Zone unit and the update process will start automatically.
Legacy Updater

The updater in WebApp 1.4.0 and earlier is visually different, but the process remains the same.
If you are running WebApp 1.2.6 or earlier, the uploader will be located under to Settings > System > Installer Settings
Legacy bundle uploader from WebApp 1.4.0 - Under Upload Bundle and click Select file. Select the system.bundle file downloaded earlier. Click Upload and wait for the successful update notification text.
Update via SD Card
To update WebApp without access to the uploader please follow these instructions.
- Power down your Zone and eject the SD card from slot on the rear of the Zone unit by gently pushing it in.
- Insert the SD card into your laptop or desktop computer if it has an SD card reader slot. If you do not have a suitable SD card slot you can to use a USB SD Card reader adapter.
- Drag the system.bundle file you downloaded from our website on to the root of the SD Card.
Important - Do not place the system.bundle file in a folder. - Once the file has copied, safely eject the SD card from the reader and place it back into the Zone Processor. Reconnect power to the Zone and the update process will start automatically.
Update Process
Firmware version 1.6.0 introduces a new bootloader on Type G units, identified with an extra digit in the serial number, e.g. Z8P 1 B.
Do not disconnect power during the update process
Type G units: From WebApp version 1.6 and up, the power light during the update process shows the following:
- Flickering Blue - the bootloader migration app is being unpacked
- Flashing Orange - the new bootloader is being prorammed
- Breathing Purple - the new bootloader is now running and the bundle is being unpacked.
- Breathing Orange - updating app firmware. Progress is shown on the Paging LEDs.
- Breathing Green - the App is starting up and searching for IP address if a network is attached.
- Solid White - IP address found, unit is ready.
- Solid Green - No network is attached, unit is ready.
Type N units: the power light during the update process will display as follows.
- Solid Blue - unit is checking the SD card for new firmware
- Flickering Blue - the bundle is being unpacked
- Flashing Orange - updating firmware
- Solid Green - Unit is booting. This may take 20 - 30 seconds
- Breathing Green - searching for IP address
- Solid White - IP address found, unit it ready.
- Solid Green - No network is attached, unit is ready.
