If the mDNS (.local) name or IP address of your Zone unit is not known there are a number of ways it can be discovered. If you are configuring your Zone for the first time, your mDNS name will be optimalaudio.local. Please see WebApp - Connecting to a Network and Opening WebApp for the First Time for more details.
System info file
The system information file (sysinfo.txt) can be found on the main directory of the SD card that is located in the rear of the Zone controller. It will open as a basic text file on your computer and display basic system and network information about the Zone unit. This includes both the mDNS name and the IP address your Zone has been configured with.
Please note that the sysinfo.txt file will only appear if you are running WebApp version 1.3.0 or higher.

Front panel display IP address
Pressing both 'All Zones' buttons on the front panel of the Zone controller will display the last octet of the IP address of the unit. While this is the quickest and easiest way of viewing the IP address, it will require you to know the default gateway and network mask of the network you are connected to. This can be viewed in your computer's network settings.
3rd party ZeroConf/Bonjour Browser
A ZeroConf Browser, also known as Bonjour or mDNS browser, allows you to view and interact with devices connected to your network that are using this technology. For example, printers, file servers or web services like WebApp via Zone controllers.
ZeroConf browsers are 3rd party programs. Therefore please take care when installing on your computer. The programs listed below are used by our software development and test team. We recommend using these.
MacOS
Discovery App
Download and install Discovery for MacOS from the Apple App Store.
Running Discovery will display a list of all local devices connected to your network. This will include your own MacBook as well as any other user's machines connected to the public network.
Select '_osc._upd.' drop down by clicking the arrow. This will now show all connected Zone controllers on your network as 'oa_zone_xxxxx'. Clicking on the drop down on this device will display the mDNS name as well as the IP address and port number.
Windows
ZeroconfServiceBrowser
Download and install from https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/zeroconfservicebrowser.html.
As with the MacOS application, any Optimal Audio WebApp clients will appear under _osc._udp. In this case the mDNS name (Host) and IP Address are displayed in the bottom right box.
