Installation of SmartAmp 3.0 Configuration Tool
Download the SmartAmp Configuration installer from the Optimal Audio website. Installers are available for both MacOS and Windows.
Run the installer and follow the prompts to completion. The application and the latest firmware files are installed together - there is no need to source firmware separately.
Updating the firmware
- Launch SmartAmp Configuration. The application opens on the Firmware tab and begins searching for a connected amplifier. The connection status panel in the top right shows Offline until an amp is found.
- Attach the SmartAmp to your computer using a USB micro lead to the maintenance port on the rear panel of the amplifier.
- The tool automatically detects the connected amplifier and identifies the model. The status panel updates to 'Connected to SmartAmp' with the model name and current status (Standby or On).
- Click Update Firmware. The correct firmware package for the connected is amplifier is applied automatically. Progress is shown in the message window and progress bar.
- The amplifier reboots automatically when the update is complete and reconnects to the tool.
Any issues with the update will be listed in the updater window. Should you encounter any update errors, please restart the SmartAmp Configuration tool and you will be prompted to select your connected SmartAmp model. This will recover the amplifier.
